Quantum Innovation Fund (“QIF”) brings extensive venture capital experience to support management teams of technology-based businesses operating in the climate, sustainability and decarbonization sectors. We are active investors in early and growth stage companies investing amounts of $10-100+ million and have considerable experience mentoring management teams to “cross the chasm” and build businesses of significant scale.
QIF is affiliated with Quantum, a leading provider of equity capital to the global energy and energy transition industry with a 25-year track record of successful investing across multiple energy, technology, and capital market cycles. Each investment made by QIF receives the same involvement and support that Quantum has brought to all of its investments since its founding.

Partner
Jeffrey is a Venture Partner at Quantum and a member of QEP’s Investment Committee. In conjunction with his role as a Venture Partner, Quantum and Global Reserve Group, an advisory and investment firm founded by Jeffrey, formed Q-GRG Ventures to leverage the collective relationships, expertise, and resources of the two firms to identify, invest in and build growth-oriented, technology-based enterprises that serve the sustainable energy ecosystem. Jeffrey founded Global Reserve Group in 2011 following a 29-year career at Warburg Pincus where he invested in both start-up and more mature companies across many different industries and countries, including leading the firm’s global energy practice for many years. He has significant experience investing in and working with companies in energy and technology. During his career he has served on the Board of nearly fifty companies of which sixteen have been publicly-listed. Jeffrey has been an active civic leader and is a member of the Board of Trustees of New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Friends of The High Line, and the Cranbrook Educational Community. In addition, for thirteen years he was an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business where he taught courses on venture capital, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Previously, he served as Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association where he was a Board member for six years. Jeffrey holds a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Managing Director
Rob is a Managing Director at Quantum. Prior to joining Quantum, Rob was an Associate at TPG Capital, where he focused on private equity investments across the energy sector. Rob also was an Analyst in the Natural Resources investment banking group at J.P. Morgan where he worked on M&A transactions and capital markets financings. Rob holds a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Rice University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He also holds an M.B.A. and an M.S. – Environment and Resources from Stanford University.
Senior Associate
Tran is an Senior Associate at Quantum. Prior to joining Quantum, Tran was an Associate at Greentech Capital Advisors, where she worked with clients across the energy transition, sustainable infrastructure and clean technologies universe on M&A, private placement and strategic advisory transactions. Tran graduated as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2017 from Sewanee: The University of the South, with a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics.
Associate
Zak is an Associate at Quantum. Prior to joining Quantum, Zak was an Analyst in the Energy Investment Banking Group at Jefferies, where he was involved in a wide variety of mergers and acquisitions, capital markets financings and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the upstream oil and gas, midstream and oilfield service sectors. Zak holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University.
